The Principal of armstrong is Denis Armstrong. Denis graduated with a Diploma of Building Services and Certificate of Plumbing Services (Hons.) in 1981. He is also licensed as a plumber, drainer, gasfitter, advanced LPG gasfitter, fire services, backflow prevention, TMV, air- conditioning and refrigeration designer and/or Contractor in NSW and Queensland. Denis holds many Distinctions and Awards. Notable is a Sir Winston Churchill Fellowship Award for Security of Payment Legislation and the Envirosafe Program. Denis is a member of AWA, FPAA, AHSCA, CIBSE, Eng.Aust and RAIA to maintain the latest industry information available.

Denis commenced business in 1967 until a buyout of his Consulting and Contracting interests in 1997. Denis was asked to join Arup in April 1997 as Senior Discipline Leader of Hydraulic Services to also include the Fire Services Discipline, leading the fire and hydraulic team on many prestigious major projects at home and overseas, until his departure in September 2005. Denis was Chairman of the NSW Security of Payment Committee for over ten years and was successful in having legislation introduced in NSW in 2003. Denis has been a member of the NSW Parliament Small Business Inquiry, Ministerial appointment as a Judge on the Industry Consumer Appeals Tribunal, president of many Associations including a six year term on the Sydney Water Customer Council. Currently Executive Member, CPD Co-Ordinator and Public Officer for AHSCA (NSW). Denis is also the Task Force Formation Principal to establish the National Institute for Water Engineering Technology for professional tertiary engineering education in the water based services engineering disciplines.

Denis is an extremely capable and innovative engineer for a broad range of service disciplines including hydraulic, fire, water, waste water, mechanical and civil services from concept to detail design and project management. Denis studied water and waste water treatment and water conservation and recycling systems by travels within Australia, Europe, North America and the Pacific Region. Denis along with his team have completed both large and small local, national and international prestige projects for residential, commercial, industrial, public and sporting stadiums in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Turkey, Iran, Singapore and India. Denis has proved very team orientated and extremely client focused.

Denis leads armstrong projects supported by very talented and experienced engineers and finance staff that have worked together as a team for nearly ten years and are now investing their skills in current armstrong projects.
