Myer Music Bowl

This project was undertaken by Arup Melbourne Office and consisted of engineering the upgrade of the Myer Music Bowl with the addition of some eighty WC’s, hand basins and showers for the public and performers. The upgrade also consisted of stage, amphitheatre, seating, sails, lighting, sound, acoustics, and services upgrade for this well known music venue.

As discipline leader of Arup hydraulics in Australia, the project engineering documents were referred to the hydraulic and fire team to review and offer engineering advice and in some cases redesigned to overcome technical issues for the Melbourne office. The design upgrade details were required to comply with State and Australian authority standards and codes including the tender specifications and issue of detailed drawings. Melbourne Office conveyed their appreciation for the design support and excellent engineering outcomes.
